Love design but want to do more than layouts and renderings?
Ready to take the lead from first hello to final install? Let’s talk.
OMI and Minwabi are growing and we’re looking for forward-thinking Project Designers to grow with us. In this role, you’ll work directly with clients and manage projects from initial concept to final design, supporting both our commercial and Indigenous-focused work.
Minwabi is our Indigenous division, dedicated to designing workspaces that honour culture, support community, and reflect the people who use them. If you're passionate about meaningful design and want to be part of something with impact, this is the place.
What You’ll Do
Own the full lifecycle of client projects — from sales pitch to design to sign-off.
Drive revenue by maximizing every project’s potential: furniture, walls, flooring and more.
Lead client communication: conduct meetings, give showroom tours and presentations, and stay in touch weekly. Create detailed furniture plans and 3D renderings using CET and SketchUp.
Conduct site visits, site measures, needs analyses, and check compliance.
Understand electrical and structural requirements of the site to ensure proper specifications of wall systems and modular furniture
Build and present project proposals, including presentation drawings, project quotes and finish selections
Coordinate installation drawings and support the installation team to understand your design intent and custom details.
Help with finish selections and sample boards when needed.
Assist in proposal writing and tender responses, from layout to language.
Collaborate with licensed partners of Minwabi to deepen your understanding of Anishinaabe culture and art with greater purpose.
You’ll Thrive If You
Are driven, independent, and highly organized – looking for a career, not just a job
Have a background in design with a growing interest in client-facing sales
Enjoy managing multiple moving parts — and keeping your cool while doing it
Have great communication skills and love building lasting client relationships
Work well as part of a creative team and doing whatever it takes to meet project deadlines
Are extremely detail oriented, love problem solving and have a natural curiosity to learn new things and new products.
Are ready to grow with a company that’s evolving and ready to invest in your potential
